SKYDIVE SKYDOWN — PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SKYDIVING
Last Updated: 2025
Skydiving is an extreme aviation sport that requires specific physical abilities and safety conditions. These requirements ensure the safety of our customers, instructors, pilots, and crew, and are based on USPA standards, equipment manufacturer limits, and federal aviation regulations.
The following are the minimum physical requirements for participating in a tandem skydive at Skydive Skydown.
1. Age Requirements
✔️
All participants must be 18 years or older.
A valid, government-issued photo ID is required.
No exceptions.
2. Weight & Body Proportion Requirements
These limits are based on safety factors, harness fit, and equipment manufacturer guidelines.
✔️
Standard weight limit:
Maximum: 230 lbs (clothed, including shoes)
Minimum: No minimum as long as harness fit is safe.
Customers above 200 lbs may be evaluated for:
Body proportion
Mobility and flexibility
Ability to maintain safe freefall position
Instructor availability based on weight accommodation
Important:
Weight limits are not based on appearance — they are based solely on safety, harness fit, and instructor load capacity.
3. Mobility Requirements
Tandem students must be able to:
✔️ Arch their body on exit and during freefall
✔️ Lift their legs for landing
✔️ Follow instructor commands
✔️ Move in and out of the aircraft safely
Individuals who cannot raise their legs may not be able to land safely and may not be able to jump.
If mobility is limited due to injury or disability, please contact us ahead of time so we can evaluate options.

Pacemakers
Contact us before booking so we can discuss safety considerations.
8. When Skydive Skydown May Decline a Jump
We may respectfully decline a jump if:
